Two weeks ago, I just felt like cooking breakfast again
It’s really nothing fancy or difficult to do
This is one of my favorite Pinoy Almusal
And I’m sure maraming maglalaway sa luto kong ito
All I needed were two fresh eggs and dried fish (bulad)
I learned to cook Scrambled Eggs thru my Dad
Each time he prepares breakfast for us I would be by his side
Presentado ako na ako mismo ang magbi-beat ng eggs
Dad would slice the tomatoes and onions
Then he would put in salt and vetsin sa scrambled egg
He would then heat the frying pan and put a little amount of oi
Unang gigisahin ang tomatoes then onions over slow heat lang
Kapag medyo tingin mo eh malambot nang pareho ang kamatis at sibuyas
Saka nya ihahalo ang scrambled egg then he would adjust to high heat
Using a wooden siyanse (ladle) to mix the whole thing
Pinakamadaling lutuin ang dried fish (bulad)
I usually “wash” it first under the running water
That’s basically to “wipe” away whatever alikabok it accumulated
Siempre para na din mabawasan ang alat
Put in a little oil lang in a pre-heated frying pan
Pag mainit na then saka mo ilagay ang bulad
This cooking should be quick kasi pag na-overcook ito – titigas!
I suggest mga 10-15 seconds per side ng dried fish
Ang voila — bonggang bigla ang almusal ko!
Mas masarap if your steamed rice is cold para lasang-lasa mo talaga
Mas masarap din kung Fried Rice ang ipapares mo dito
And don’t forget your hot cup of coffee on the side
I also make sure na ready na rin ang sawsawan na Sukang Pinakurat
At wag mag-inarte — magkamay ka!
Ang Pinoy Almusal na ito ay bonggang kainin na nagkakamay
Good luck sa diet nyo!
