After a spirit-filled conference of Santo Nino Devotees in Tagaytay City
We found ourselves navigating the oh-so-huge Mall of Asia
MOA was brimming with people and all the popular fastfood joints were full
We were tired and famished and just wanted to sit down and relax
We found ourselves right smack Cafe Adriatico and decided to just go for it
I’ve been a fan of CA ever since my first visit in their Ermita Branch
And when they opened in Cebu, I became a regular habitue
The waiter who attended to us was very welcoming and allowed us to charge our cellphones
The ambience was very cozy and the glass panels gave the place a wider feel about it
Only one other table was occupied probably because it was too early for dinner
We were served a basket of kropek (shrimp crackers) while we await our orders
I opted for their Arroz Caldo with Tokwa’t Baboy (195.00)
I find the price quite steep but this rice porridge reminded me of my childhood
I rate it high for taste not only of the porridge itself but also the chicken meat which was very tender
And with toasted garlic and onions as toppings, what else could go wrong?
Served with tofu and pork slices in mildly spiced soy sauce dressing
I must say that this is one unforgettable viand by Cafe Adriatico
My sister ordered their Famous Pancit Palabok (245.00)
Topped with generous quantity of shrimp, squid, pork cracklings and hard boiled egg
I expected it to be really awesome and all but I was not floored at all
I’m not saying it’s bad but with a price like that I expected to get my money’s worth
Well at least it’s safe to say that Cafe Adriatico has perfected this viand
Now if only they consider adjusting the price downwards
Jun ordered their Baked Macaroni (170.00)
Nothing special about this classic pasta meal
It’s cooked perfectly that it somehow tasted like your regular fastfood meal
My niece can cook a better version of this
